Dear Friends,
This year marks our 65th Annual Exhibit and Symposium. This year’s success is largely due to the hard work and dedication of our members from Area IV and the staff at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art.
A special thank you goes out to Lynn Whitelaw
for inviting us to return this year and Ann Larsen,
the new director, for working with us during the entire process to make our exhibit become a reality.
Thank you to this year’s symposium coordinator George Trimitsis
and all of the Area IV members who contributed to ensure that our exhibit and symposium would be enjoyable for our members and visitors alike. Congratulations Florida Artists Group members; this year you had 94 entries included in this exhibit.
It’s hard to believe that four years have gone by since you asked me to serve as your president. It has been a lot of hard work and long hours. At the same time, it has been one of the most rewarding endeavors I have been involved with during my life.
With your help, here are some of the good things we’ve been able to accomplish together:
v We expanded our areas to include 10 areas in the state. This makes the work of the area chairs more manageable.
v Each area has a 32 active member limit with the exception of area 3 which now has 50.
v Our official name, Florida Artists Group, Inc. was updated on documents, including our logo.
v We now have three types of memberships: Active, Honorary and Emeritus.
