Artists Bio

Linda views "the global world as her studio for plein air oil painting." She has been plein air oil painting since 2002 in various locations of Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County, Florida.  She focuses her subject matter on documenting urban areas as well as parks, beaches and nature preserves.  Linda has taken plein air workshops internationally since 2011 in France, Italy, and Ecuador. Linda studied with Stephane Ruais in France for three years.  She has also studied with Maddine Insalaca and Joe Vinson in Italy for three years. Linda studied with Roger Dale Brown in Ecuador, as well as studies with Morgan Samuel Price in Florida.  Linda has been involved in the local Fort Lauderdale Art Community for over 40 years. She has facilitated drawing, painting & sculpture workshops from life in Fort Lauderdale for most of these years.  Linda continues to plein air oil paint in Italy and France where she resides in the spring and summer months.  Linda is an active member of the Plein Air Palm Beach Artists, Plein Air Artists Colorado, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, California Plein Air Artists, Vero Beach Art Club and Delray Art League.  


Artist Statement

I am inspired to “paint from life” capturing and documenting my relationship with the environment at a moment in time.  Each of my en plein aire paintings tells its own story.  Each painting is painted on site at a specific location with a specific time.  Each painting is a one of a kind original oil painting. My paintings represent a documentation of our natural environment painted in Florida’s most precious nature preserves and ecosystems, national & state parks, wildlife refuges as well as the coastline. Additionally, many of my paintings were painted in Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, as well as Italy and France, and some in Ecuador.  I participate in the Plein Air Palm Beach Funfest in Delray Beach, Florida, Red Rocks Art Festival in Moab, Utah, and Steamboat Art Museum Plein Air Festival in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, as well as volunteer at the Eric Rhoads PACE Plein Air Convention and Expo.  I am a member of the Vero Beach Art Club, Plein Air PalmBeach, and Delray Art League.   I endorse the global preservation of environmental issues.  A percentage of sales of plein air oil painting will go toward fundraising for the preservation of our natural environments for special habitats and ecosystems, through the Audubon Society, Sierra Club, and World Wildlife Fund, as well as for Breast Cancer research, education and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Foundation
