Rosa Valladares
Rosa Valladares began her journey as an artist in her hometown of Lima, Peru. Art was an important presence in her life from an early age. At the National School of Art in Lima, she earned a BA with merits in printmaking and drawing. Then she pursued a Master printer workshop program at Tamarind Institute in New Mexico and earned a master’s degree in fine arts at Indiana University with a full scholarship. In 2000, Rosa received a Fellowship from the Penland School of Arts and Crafts, NC, and earned a grant from the American Association of University Women in 2009. She was an educator for 25 years and has participated in exhibitions in Peru, as well as international shows in Argentina, Rumania, Korea, Colombia, and United States with solo exhibitions in Lima, Peru, in Washington DC and in Virginia.
