Holly Koons is currently the executive director of the new Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. Her vision for the Center supports the core mission of the University and engages the public through excellence in exhibitions and educational programming. Holly is the former executive director of the Arlington (Va.) Arts Center and former executive director of the Greater Reston (Va.) Arts Center (now the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art) and director of collections and exhibitions at the Telfair Museums in Savannah, Georgia. She has over twenty years of experience in visual arts curation, was responsible for the care, display, and interpretation of the Telfair’s collection of nearly 5,000 works of art, as well as curating and managing twelve to sixteen changing exhibitions annually. Holly holds a BA from the University of Georgia in English and Art History, and a MA in Art History from the University of Notre Dame.
