Artists Bio:

Iwona Łys-Dobradin (pronounced ee-VO-nah) is a classically trained sculptor based in Winter Park, Florida.  She studied at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Kraków, Poland in the atelier of Professor Marian Konieczny and graduated summa cum laude in 1982.  Her sculpture, Pantomime, was awarded a medal of distinction by ASP faculty.  Iwona’s work has been exhibited at the Dziedziniec Gallery and selected for the Kraków Sculpture Biennial and the Sacred Sculpture competition.  She has also taught sculpture courses to high school students.

Artist Statement:

“Since my childhood, I have had an interest in the imaginary capabilities of art. My fascination was later shaped by formal and rigorous study of sculpture. The work I create brings together the harmony of nature and combines it with my perspective of the world. In my creative process I use intuition and imagination to create aesthetics in sculpture. The goal is to depict positive attitudes and optimism.”

Exhibitions:

Iwona’s Angel is currently being exhibited at The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park, FL
