Artist Bio:

Began by doing sculpture at Hillsborough Community College then later a design class with Steve Holm who told me,  “You’re a painter, come to a painting class.” and ended up four years later with an MFA from University of South Florida concentrating on painting.  Some teaching of painting at USF and HCC, 10 years of Gasparilla Art Show, many other shows in area -Winter Park, Lakeland, St. Petersburg, Dunedin, plus museum group shows like Tampa  Museum of Art, St Petersburg Museum, Leepa- Rattner, and Lakeland museums.  Thankfully, life is calmer now

Artist's Statement:

For me, painting is a passionate experience of the moment, a way of tapping into myself, being alive, and feeling, not thinking.  My best brushwork reflects this state of mind, and hopefully, all of the careful observation and drawing of the past comes through.  The best result is when even I am mystified by what my brush is doing.
