Artist Bio:

Kasia’s European heritage, extensive international travels, and memories of places, situations, and people have always been an inspiration for the art she creates today.

She received an MFA in Art and Design with a minor in Interior Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, a hub of academic, cultural and artistic life. As a student she was fascinated with printmaking processes and became proficient in the difficult techniques of etching. From the beginning however, Kasia recognized that painting would be her primary art form. She began experimenting with various techniques from realistic portrayals to the abstractions and over time her paintings began to emerge as a combination of abstract and realism.

After her formal education, she gained a wide range of experience working in graphic design, television set design, and interior design. Her travels throughout Europe, Asia, South America and North America gave her the opportunity to study art of both the past and present and expand her knowledge of diverse styles and cultures.

In the middle of her career, she moved to the United States (Pittsburgh, PA) where she continued to work successfully as graphic artist, art director and fine artist. In 2013, after moving to Lakewood Ranch, FL, Kasia decided to concentrate exclusively on painting.

Today, through a synthesis of visual sharpness and fearlessness, she portrays the full spectrum of emotions with all its inherent strengths and fragility. A self-described optimist, she is adventurous in her technical experimentation and bold in plumbing the emotional depths of her subjects. Using emotions as her filter, Kasia creates paintings that reveal the magic of the world and invite celebration of its soaring possibilities. Her work has appeared in 18 solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe and received numerous recognitions. She is represented by the Dabbert Gallery, located on historic Palm Avenue in Sarasota, FL.

Education:

MFA in Art and Design with a minor in Interior Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland, in 1988

Artist Statement:

I believe art is about our connection to each other as human beings and to nature. I strive to create an intimate conversation between the work and the viewer so that the viewer becomes sensitized to seeing more, appreciating more, connecting more, and loving more in everyday life.
