Barbara’s Bio:
Barbara has been part of the Central Florida art scene since 1979, exhibiting her works in outdoor art festivals, museums and gallery competitions. Starting with graphite and colored pencil drawing, she moved into oil paint after private lessons with local legend, Maury Hurt.
She maintained a studio at the A & H Art and History Museum, formerly called The Maitland Art Center, from 1984 until 2009, where she taught and volunteered.
In 2012, Barbara began teaching at Crealdé School of Art and in 2014; she became the Curator of Exhibitions and Program Manager for the Painting and Drawing Department. Currently, she is teaching again and still takes on the duties as curator having moved on from department manager. Beginning in 2022, she will retire as curator and focus on painting full time and teaching.
